With reference to the powers granted to this Bank

by Supplemental Charter dated 15th April, 1922, to increase

its Note Circulation with due notice to .M. Treasury up to a

total amount of $30,000,000, we beg to advise that to meet

present exigencies in Hongkong we have authorized our Manager

there to increase nis Mote Isrue up to $25,000,000 (say

Twenty five millions) which, together with the $3,000,000 at

present allotted to North China, etc., makes a total of

$28,000,000 allocated at present against the $30,000,000

authorized.
